WILL THERE BE A SEQUEL TO THE SQUID GAME SEASON 1?
Indeed,there will be a second season ofSquid Game, but given the incredible success of the series (according to Bloomberg, it would have garnered some $891 million), there was little doubt. Initially, its creator Hwang Dong-hyuk seemed rather reluctant to push a sequel to the project, but the latter finally gave in to the pressure and confirmed that a new season was indeed in the works. A sequel that was confirmed by Netflix's current boss, Ted Sarandos, in January 2022.
WHAT WILL TALK ON SEASON 2?
As of now, no official synopsis has been released. However, in an interview with AP Entertainment relayed on Twitter, the creator of the series hinted that this next season would once again revolve around Gi-hun, the main character.
It could be that the second season picks up where the first left off. As a reminder, the first season ended with Gi-hun abruptly refusing to take a plane to go and join his daughter after he ran into the mysterious Man in a Suit he met in the first episode. Some fans then deduced that what happened next would likely focus on the character's efforts to dismantle the cog in the game's origins of slaughter.
It's also possible that Season 2 will cross South Korean borders and change horizons, as teased by the creator by Squid Game.
